dose. detroit is a café that feels like a thoughtful pause in the midst of Detroit’s energetic 4th Street corridor. This spot caters to those who appreciate more than just a caffeine fix — it’s as much about the space as the coffee itself. The light-filled interior, dotted with green plants hanging from fixtures and sitting on counters, invites visitors to settle in whether for a quiet morning with a laptop or a relaxed afternoon catch-up.

The coffee menu at dose. detroit balances classics with a few distinct twists. Regulars seem to favor the cappuccino for its rich, smooth execution, but the rotating specialty drinks — like the strawberry lavender iced matcha or a salted Nutella rose latte — showcase the café’s playful approach to flavor. The food options lean into simple, fresh ingredients with an emphasis on well-made toast varieties, such as ricotta or avocado, and croissants that appeal to those looking for a light but thoughtful bite.

Local visitors tend to drop in during mid-morning or into late afternoon when the sunlight streams through the large windows, playing off the café’s abundant greenery. The atmosphere creates a calm yet vibrant energy, perfect for writers, remote workers, or anyone wanting to take a break from the city's rush. The spacious layout offers comfortable seating that doesn’t feel cramped, an advantage when you want to linger over your cappuccino or the stuffed egg soufflé croissant.

A distinctive feature here is the integration of lifestyle elements beyond coffee — customers often find themselves browsing a modest selection of plants and homeware for sale, which adds an extra layer to the experience and fits well with the surrounding Midtown neighborhood’s creative vibe. The staff’s friendly and accommodating approach rounds out a visit that consistently feels personal rather than transactional.

In short, dose. detroit fits best for locals and visitors who enjoy a café that doubles as a relaxed workspace, a casual meeting spot, or a quiet retreat, especially on bright, sunny days when the interior and patio spaces are at their inviting best. If you appreciate thoughtful drinks paired with a fresh, simple menu and a sense of calm amidst Detroit’s urban landscape, this is a café worth taking your time at.

We are loving this new cafe in Detroit. The atmosphere, staff and drinks were just simply perfect. I ordered the strawberry lavender iced matcha and my significant other ordered an ice latte. Both items were delicious! I highly recommend coming in. The sunlight shining through the glass with all the plants around really cheered me up.

The combination of a beautiful atmosphere, chic decor, and delicious food and drinks really creates a memorable vibe. Plus, the option to purchase plants and homeware adds a unique touch to the overall experience. I give it a 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend.

This coffee shop is a dream come true! The coffee is exceptional-rich, smooth, and crafted with care. The food? Absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. But what truly sets this place apart is the cozy ambiance, chic decor and beautiful plants scattered throughout the space adding vibrant, cheerful touch. Pair that with the perfect music selection, delicious coffee and food, and you’ve got a little slice of heaven. The owners Adam and Alan are the cherry on top-friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. Whether you’re working, relaxing, or catching up with friends, the warm atmosphere and perfect playlist make it a spot you’ll never want to leave!

Stumbled into dose, just looking for a place to stop and type in some notes on my computer. Upon entering the establishment, you are immediately drawn in by the spacious layout and plants adorning the counters and hanging from the light fixtures. I ordered the iced strawberry lavender cold foam, which was both refreshing and delicious for the 80 degree weather we experienced today. And I ordered the sweet toast to nibble on. The berry preserve was fresh, tart and delicious and paired perfectly with my drink. The music complimented the place so well! And the natural light brightening the place through their huge windows was so nice and relaxing. I’ll absolutely visit again. Loved it.

Excellent coffee shop in Detroit located on 4th. The ambiance is amazing, plenty of comfortable seating. The cappuccino was delicious, rich and fresh. I definitely recommend the egg salad toast, it’s out of this world so much flavor and fresh eggs. The service is accommodating and friendly. Definitely a must coffee stop in Detroit.

Obsessed with this coffee shop! I like that it is a big open space, airy with a lot of natural lighting, and has plants and small business items for sale I got the salted Nutella rose latte which has a ROSE cold foam.... it was insanely delicious!!!! They have a lot of unique flavors and make them in-house. As a coffee influencer, this place wins the trophy in Michigan for best latte for bean quality, flavor, and perfection of froth!

The matcha here is worth the price tag! Especially the Strawberry Lavender cream matcha with oat milk. And they serve it in a glass for dine-in! Single use plastics are a plague so that is a big plus

Tried the blueberry pastry and banana coffee. Both were good and something different. The experience is overall really good. Would definitely visit again!
